Hockey Day in Canada

Today is Hockey Day in Canada. It's broadcast on NHL Network via Hockey Night in Canada (CBC). Just saw an 83-year woman playing hockey. Too cool.. There will be stories throughout the day of inspiration, determination and guts. Main point: Hockey is For Everyone.

Broadcast started with Don Cherry quoting Shakespeare. He was in full regalia. Very appropriate.

Cameras are set up throughout Canada. Sites include:

Starts in Stratford, Ontario (where Chris Pronger took drama lessons, btw...:) )

Victoria, BC....where they are playing street hockey (on pavement with a ball)
Auburn Bay, AB
Estevan, SK
Gimli, MB
Ottawa, ON (which properly has the largest ice rink in world...7.8 kilometers)
St. John's, NL

The NHL Network is broadcasting three Canadian-based NHL games today...a triple header. :)
