Jeremy Roenick Career Statistics

The end of a 20 year career has just ended. Jeremy Roenick just completed his press conference announcing his retirement. I will miss watching him play, personally.

He regaled a story about how, as a kid, he went to watch the Hartford Whalers play. He loved Gordie Howe play with his sons Marty and Mark. As Jeremy, 6 years old at the time, Gordie scooped up a hockey stick full of snow from the surface. He skated by Roenick and dropped it on his head. As he skated away and then skated back to Roenick , Gordie winked at him. That individual attention made a lifelong impression. It was a wonderful story to hear.
